The IKEA coffee-table baking book called Hembakat är Bäst (Homemade is Best) had full viral attention back in 2010. Stylist Evelina Bratell and photographer Carl Kleiner made a visually unique baking book, inspired by high fashion and japanese minimalism. The graphic still-life portraits made out of the recipe ingredients still have a funny but also an enlightening effect on me. The focus is put on the ingredients and less on the end result. (Not often with culinary books.) Of course the end result matters. But if you want a delicious cake, you need quality ingredients. Perfectly mixed and composed just right. Baking sound or baking Vaniljhjärtan, there’s almost no difference. #inspiration

Just recently i set up Smplify — a Tumblr for inspiring photography. Smplify is an online mood board showing strong, conceptual, minimalist photographs with no words or explanations. Smplify does the hard work for you by simply selecting the most interesting photographs on the web and displaying them in an elegant on-going feed. That’s the idea behind it. Smplify — wonderful inspiring photography, hand-picked for you ’n your loved ones! #inspiration

“The only intuitive interface is the nipple. After that everything is learned.” In his extraordinary talk When We Build, Wilson Miner shares many inspiring observations about the way we design, why we design and how new mediums change the world. My favourite part is Miner’s explanation of Robert Irwin’s work (25:15). His study of spaces, his visual reactions to them and the way his minimal installations change people’s perceptions. Photo: Light and Space (2007) by Robert Irwin. Please take your time and watch the entire presentation. It is truly brilliant. #inspiration

Serious plans. Serious book. Designing a recording studio is more than just soundproofing. Interior design, lighting, furniture, ... Everything must be right. At least if you want a creative and inspiring workspace. Roger D’Arcy and Hugh Flynn started building sound studios from 1987 and made many groundbreaking designs. Recently they summarized their projects in RA-The Book. i know what i’ll be reading this weekend! #inspiration
